This opulent living room is full of colour, pattern and texture. In its exuberance there is a cocooning feeling of comfort and cosiness.
The carefully curated colour palette brings everything together and the tactile textures of velvets and wool make the room really welcoming.
It’s a North facing room and so I went for a wallpaper with a slight sheen to reflect any natural light and the use of floor lamps and table lamps bring a warm light in the evening. I decided that a panel of wallpaper behind the sofa would be great for adding further interest, it gives a lovely backdrop for the picture shelves.
The whole scheme was tied together by using a white that has a soft pink hue that changes with the light: more white in the day and more pink in the evening. We enveloped the whole room in it, ceilings, walls, cornice and skirting boards.
A lovely family room where we relax.
